Holy Week - Part Two

To get a true understanding of all that transpired during our Lord's last week on earth before His bodily crucifixion, you will have to do some reading. You could begin in Mark 11, Luke 19:28, Matthew 24 and John 12, and read through the end of each Gospel. Each Gospel account covers different aspects. My favorite, however, is John's account, because of the details in the Garden. Matthew is the longest due to his record of Jesus' lengthy prophecy and details of the cross and resurrection that the others do not record. Mark is the briefest. Luke gives us details of Pilate, Herod, and the release of Barabbas.
You will gain something by reading them all and miss things by not. But I know your time is limited, so let me continue on with what we think happened on Tuesday:

-The Sanhedrin challenge Jesus' authority (Luke 20:1-8).
-Jesus foretells the destruction of Jerusalem and His return (Matthew 24, 25).
-Mary anoints Jesus at Bethany (John 12:2-8). *Some may have this at a different time.*
-Judas bargains with the Jewish rulers to betray Jesus (Luke 22:3-6).

Absorb as much as you can and thank Him everyday for the depths of love it took for Him to endure all He did.

In Christ,
Pastor Todd
