Day Fifteen - Seek

In a call for His people to repent, God said through the Prophet Amos, "Seek Me and live, seek the Lord and live." That has been my ultimate theme and goal in each of these posts. We seek Him in worship, we seek Him in study, we seek Him in prayer, both through speaking and listening. We seek Him publicly and privately. We had best seek Him often. Our seeking Him should bring us to repentance and produce within us wisdom, discernment, and vision. Our seeking God gives us life. He said, "Seek the Lord and live."

One must embrace Lordship and understand what kind of life He wants to grant His followers. I have come to accept and believe it is the only life for me. I spent weeks talking about joy from Philippians. I refer endlessly to the Fruit of the Spirit. When we are baptized in the Spirit through regeneration, that enables us to seek and receive the filling of the Spirit. It is His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, that grants us this abundant, Spirit-filled life.

Psalm 34:10 promises: "No good thing will be withheld from those who seek the Lord."
Psalm 105:4 states: "Seek the Lord and receive His strength."
Isaiah 28:5 reads: "Righteousness is granted to those who seek the Lord."

Read Isaiah 55:6-9
What has seeking the Lord in the last days, and earlier, I'm sure, resulted in? The fast is not what pleases our God. The fast is for us. It is to draw as close to Him that His righteousness, holiness, and Godliness should shine forth in our lives.

Please read Isaiah 58:1-9
Through the Prophet Isaiah, God describes a people who took great pleasure in fasting, seeking Him daily, obedience and worship. They delighted in God and, yet, they were oppressing their servants. Is there a "yet. . ." in your life?

The Lord we seek wants and deserves - dare I say, demands - to be Lord of all. Check your heart today. Is it fertile soil for the seeds of God's purpose and design to flourish and grow? If not, then do what is necessary to bring everything in your life under total submission and surrender.

Please watch and listen with an open heart, mind, and soul. Please let it take its needed place in your life. Do not move from this place until this issue is clearly settled. Have you repented? Are you following Him totally and completely?
Powerful stuff!!! Give in, give up, and then move forward.

In Christ,
Pastor Todd
