Fit for the Master's Use

Being Fit for the Master's Use requires us to think like He thinks. Because our God is love, He is a Friend to sinners. I stated last Sunday that in order for humanity to gain spiritual wisdom in Bible study and for us to be able to worship our God in Spirit and in Truth, man must:

1) Receive Him as Savior and

2) Recognize His sovereignty

We know that salvation is the sole work of God in the heart of man. We also know that the Bible says regarding this work of God "How can they believe lest they first hear the Gospel, and how can they hear lest they are told." (Romans 10:8-13).

Any reader of the Gospels can discern that Jesus is a friend to sinners. He ate with them, healed them, ministered to them, taught them, forgave them and invited them into His inner circle. The leper, the blind, the mute, the crippled, the demon possessed, the tax collectors, the harlot women, the Roman soldiers, the Jewish elites, the bleeding, the dying, and the dead - Jesus took time with them all. It is clear how much Jesus cared, and it is equally clear how much you and I care. The question is: What does your life reveal?

Do we love and care like our Lord?

We will be in Luke 15 on Sunday, Most of you know it well. If you reread it, focus on the first two verses. The confusion of the religious was: "What is He doing?" they stated: "This man receives sinners and eats with them." To answer them, Jesus spoke to them regarding a shepherd with a lost sheep, a woman with a lost coin, and a father with a lost son. They all cared deeply. The lesson is we should care as well.

See you Sunday.
