Fit for the Master's Use
One of the many things that make us Fit for the Master's Use is Faithfulness. Two factors of faithfulness that I intend on considering Sunday are:
Bible Study from 2 Timothy 2:15
and Worship from John 4:21-24
Learning how to study God's Word is our greatest need. Loving to worship our Lord is our greatest joy. Worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth is our ultimate privilege, but also our supreme duty. Worship stems from Bible Study and both lead to faithfulness, which evolves into service and usefulness.
As hard as you work, as much as you have earned everything you possess, as active and faithful as you are to family, friends, career, education and ministry, this may sound ridiculous and insulting, but I believe most are spiritually lazy. In my life and ministry, I see the real struggle the majority have is with digging into the Word as well as being emotionally invested in worship.
I truly believe the most logical excuse is to blame Satan. He is constantly working against us to keep us out of the Word and so dry spiritually that worship becomes about us and seldom about the One we are aiming our worship toward. At least, I know how I have to fight to get it right. But I won't be blaming him Sunday, just acknowledging his role. The buck stops with us.
Sunday should be interesting.
