The Ministry of God's Spirit

Oct 20, 2024    Todd Garren

We all know that the King is Supreme and thus whatever saith the Lord, we do. We all know that God speaks through His Holy, Inspired, Infallible, Inherent Word. When the Bible speaks, we say, "Yes, Lord." We all know that our Lord departed from earth in part to leave us His Spirit. The Third Person of the Holy Trinity is absolutely as authoritative as the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible, although we seldom give Him the deserving respect, attention, and appreciation. It is through Him that we connect to the Father. It is by Him that all that God is, all that God has, and all that God wishes to grant to humanity is given.

In this MORE of God series I have spoken much about His power, protection, provision, and presence. I have spoken about His vast supply of all we need, and man today is just as needy as I personally believe we ever have been.

Juxtapose to our culture and society's issues of fear, panic, doubt, confusion, speculation, searching, seeking, chasing, and floundering is the Fruit of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The contrast between the lost and the saved has never been more stark.

Not to doubt your salvation, but how would you characterize your life right now? Paul presents six links in the chain of truth that demonstrates our possession of all we need to enjoy the victories of the Christian life. From Romans 5:1-5 we will consider four of then:

I. The Believer's Peace with God

II. The Believer's Standing in Grace

III. The Believer's Hope of Glory

IV. The Believer's Possession of Divine Love

This is perhaps the greatest chapter of the greatest book in the Bible. We will see words and phrases like "justified by faith," "access by faith,""rejoice in hope," "not only that," "much more,""abundance of grace," and "reign in life," but the one I will focus on the most is the very real fact that all of this and so much more has been "poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

You want the MORE of God that you long for? Open your heart to the Holy Spirit. Simple, yet a lifelong desire and passion. There is a "Wonderful, Spirit-Filled Life" available to us all.
