MORE
With so much discussion about the cost of goods and services, I am sure you can appreciate the issue of lack, want, and need. Everyone that has ever taken a breath on this earth has experienced limitations. Yes, even our precious Lord and Savior had limitations. "He humbled Himself and took on the form of a bondservant." This means that He willingly imposed limitations on Himself. God has no limits and, therefore, He is more than enough. He knows all and is able to meet every need we incur. I, for one, am so grateful that the One who's love has no bounds also has no inabilities that hinder Him from attending to me.
I plan for us to study 2 Kings 4:8-37, but I ask you to take the time to read chapters four through six. At first glance, these incredible accounts seem to be all about Elisha. These are not about Elisha. These are not just Elisha's stories, but God's Story. Elisha was mightily used of God, no doubt, but it is the Power of God that rings out the loudest. Think with me about God's ability to be more. He is MORE! Not limited in any way. You say you believe in Him. You say you believe Him. You say you believe everything the Bible says about Him. I say, then, you and I should trust Him, live for Him, and tell others about Him. Thus, the world, nor the Devil himself, should hold no sway over us.
What event or moment has shaken you the most? I could not begin to guess. We speak of things like wars, attacks, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters, assassinations, depressions, collapses, shortages and outages, but these are things we all share in common. Horrible things, but perhaps not personal. I bet you have a personal moment or event that you might not be over yet. A miscarriage, a death, a divorce - or what led to it - fraud, abuse, neglect, betrayal, a lie or a theft. Things that maybe I would never speculate, but are so real to you.
In our study Sunday, we will look at a woman who's son, by miracle birth, dies, and yet she says something - in fact she says it multiple times in our text:
"IT IS WELL." Or, better stated,
"It is going to be okay."
Is it well with you?
God is more.
