Hebrews 12:1-11

I can only imagine all the different issues, feelings and emotions that people are wrestling with right now in America. I often wish the phrase "ignorance is bliss" were true. Oh, I guess it is in some ways, but we know that we are very often still responsible even if we don't know, after all "ignorance of the law is no defense.” One more saying please:

"I'm the kind of tired a nap won't cure.” Are you exhausted? I really believe that one would have to be half dead to not be experiencing the stages of grief over and over, not just in the last week, but at least since 9/11. It is why scores of people will not watch the news or allow themselves to be informed. I have heard so often, "I just can't take it, it tears my nerves up.” Truth is, whether we know or not know, so much of what is happening in our world today is and/or will trickle down to us. We just do not live in the bubble we would like to think we do. Had Christians and the moral right took this fight as seriously as the left did in the 60's and 70's, maybe some of this could have been thwarted. They/ We did not, so here we are slap-dap in the middle of a holy war for the soul of America- whether we want to be or not.

So welcome to the party.

Oh, by the way, the other side doesn't play by the rules our side usually does.

So it ain't gonna to be fair or fun.

If it was solely a physical fight, this is where I would say, "good luck, go get em.” But it isn't, is it? This war is a spiritual battle that requires being equipped and empowered by the Sovereign, Holy, Supernatural, Transcendent, Providential and Authoritative Creator God of this Universe.

We must engage, but we do not fight by our own might. We must stand for Truth and fight to the death but where do we start?

 Since we are in this series on "The Characteristics of God" and having looked at His Grace, Mercy and Holiness, I think it is fitting to look this week at His Sovereignty. 

So, I ask you this for Sunday, "What is God up to you?” and "What are you doing while you wait for Him to reveal His plan?”

Look Back

Look In

Look Ahead

Look Up

 & Look Deeper

This is may be the most needed message I've brought in a long time. It feels like we are at a tipping point between a Great Awakening and Civil War.
