Persevere Through it All

Jul 6, 2025    Todd Garren

We plan to pick up where we left off last Sunday. We will use Hebrews 10:19-25. No matter how many sacrifices were made under the old covenant they failed to bring access to God, they could not remove sin and they were only external, doing nothing to cleanse the conscience.

In the opening verses of chapter ten, we learn of seven superiority of the effectiveness of Christ's sacrifice versus that of bulls and goats. Because Christ is Superior, He is better than the Angels, Moses, Prophets and Priests.

Because Christ is Superior, He had offered the better sacrifice Himself.

His Sacrifice:

1) Reflects God's Eternal Will

2) Replaces the Old System

3) Sanctifies the Believer

4) Destroys His Enemies

5) It removes Sin

6) Perfects the Saints forever

7) Fulfills the Promise of a New Covenant

With our Lord and Savior accomplishing so much for us, it seems the least we could do is honor Him by giving ourselves over to Him fully. Most Christians agree to His Superiority, but does He have total authority in your life? Is He Lord over your life? For Him to be your Lord and Master, you must surrender that authority to Him.

We will look at three signs of a surrendered life:

1) Drawing near to Christ personally

2) Holding fast to the Oracles of Scripture

3) Putting other's needs before your own

May the winds of revival and spiritual renewal be real to us this Lord's Day. Let them grip your heart and reveal any changes Christ would have you make.
